Seattle Trip 2025
During Labor Day weekend this year, I visited Seattle with my family. I had never been to Seattle before, so I took quite a bit of time exploring the city. I also brought my camera, and have attached some of my favorite photos for you to enjoy!
8.30
Waterfront
After getting off the plane at 8 AM, we headed directly to the Seattle waterfront. The public transportation system was amazing, and I especially enjoyed the Monorail. We spent a couple hours at the waterfront, then ate lunch at Pike Place Market.
After eating, we went to our hotel and checked in. We all took naps because we woke up at 4 AM for the early flight.
Space Needle
Later in the day, we went to the Space Needle. The view of the structure and from the top of the tower was impressive as expected. There were also panels detailing the construction of the tower and its historical significance, which I spent lots of time reading.
As a souvenir, I got myself a building-block set of the Space Needle, which I’ve pieced together recently.
8.31
Pacific Science Center
We headed to the Pacific Science Center after waking up. Most of the exhibits were targeted towards younger children, so it was a bit less interesting than the Hong Kong Science Museum, which I had visited two years prior. Regardless, we got tickets to the planetarium and listened to a nice presentation on stars.
Cruise
Later in the night, we booked a cruise tour. Our time window was especially good—the sun set during our tour. As a result, I was able to snap a lot of nice photos.
After the tour, we ate dinner and walked through Seattle downtown back to our hotel.
9.1
University of Washington
On our last day, we decided to visit University of Washington’s campus. We signed up for a guided campus tour, but apparently it was on a different day, so we explored the campus ourselves.
Unfortunately, the classes had not begun yet, so most of the buildings were closed.
Bellevue
We took a last stop at Bellevue before heading to the airport. Most of our time was spent at the Bellevue Botanical Garden, so many of my photos are taken there. We also made a quick stop at Bellevue downtown before heading to the airport.
Our airplane took off at 10 PM, so it was 12 AM by the time we arrived, and 2 AM by the time I slept. Waking up for school the next day was definitely a challenge.
This trip left me with many great memories, and allowed me to spend quality time with my family. Downtown Seattle reminded me of China, with many modern glass buildings. Seattle is definitely a choice you should consider if you are planning a trip!
